The frequency of LOVE{ 528HZ} is all that's needed to create universal change in the positive direction.

Change begins with you.

Often, we are looking for something external to make our lives better. What if the only thing in  your world that needs changing is you? You can choose how you feel by just deciding to feel better. If enough people do this as much as they feel they are capable, then the total outcome of our existence can shift into something amazing. If everyone on the planet can get in touch with the fact they they can choose how they feel, then it will only open doors to exponential possibilities for improvement on all levels of our existence.

Today, I found this YouTube video of beautiful pictures infused with music and the LOVE FREQUENCY of 528HZ. Everything on the planet has a frequency because we are energy in nature. Even the Merck Manual of prescription medications has a frequency for each medication that is available on the market. LOVE may really be the best drug! and how convenient, it costs nothing except to choose it!

Today, I listened and watched this video while I was practicing my own yoga therapy, soaking up the healing vibrations of the frequencies to renew every cell in my body and to remind myself of where I came from, which is from the breath of God. At the same time I was reminding myself that I am a child of God and so are each of you.

Get in tune with the energy of LOVE within yourself and help create a better planet for yourself and everyone and everything that lives here.

ENJOY!!

Access Consciousness: a simple life changing technique.

I have been using light touch therapies on my patients for the last 16 years and have found them to be the most relaxing sessions in manual therapy. So, when I friend introduced me to one that I had never heard of, I didn't hesitate to get on the treatment table for a session. I had been swollen for weeks due to a lot of recent change in my life and the results where showing up in my body and on my face. After the first session, the next morning I was noticeably less swollen and I had a great night sleep. The effects continued over consecutive days. I had time for another session about 2 weeks later and the results continued. I noticed that my attitude was better and I was feeling more ease with the changes in my life.

Kelsey Braseau, is a practitioner of 5 years in Access Conscious, also known as Bars. We were discussing some of the benefits that she's been noticing around receiving Bars sessions over the years including the effects on hormonal issues, which is of particular interest to me since so many of the women that I work with have stress related hormonal symptoms. Here is what Kelsey says Bars has done for her:

Having Bars sessions is one of the most relaxing and kind things I can do for myself and my body. Having regular Bars sessions has helped me alleviate chronic pain, insomnia, pre/post menopausal symptoms and has improved my general well being. I have amazingly lost 20 pounds effortlessly due to a continually better outlook on life which decreases my overall stress. Bars has been a huge contribution to aging more gracefully and I highly recommend regular sessions to anyone looking to improve the quality of life. Many of my clients have expressed similar results including feeling peaceful, relaxed, and meditative after a session.

Let's face it, we all have stress. Stress of some sort is what causes our health to deteriorate. Excessive stress is the main problem that I see with every single patient and client. Making a regular effort to reduce stress is the key to longevity and aging with ease and grace.

Food Combining

Watch this video on why food combing matters. Some call it a scientific approach to eating and others say there's nothing scientific about it. If you're only looking for something scientific to believe in, you will be very disappointed by most of what life has to offer. Science is always changing, proving and disproving itself as well as curing and hurting us. You be the judge. Do your own research by testing theories to find what's true for yourself.

Chronic Pain: Deep Release

It is rare that I meet anyone that can truly say they have no pain in their body.  After many thousands of lessons that I've given to patients and clients on how to self treat their painful body parts, I realize that ultimately the best way to do this is by educating the person on how to stop the cycle of pain when and where it occurs. This means that in order for the person to be successful at abolishing pain, and particularly chronic pain, they must learn to become mindful of what they are feeling in their body throughout the day and night.

The vast majority of people in the world have pain as a result of some kind of mechanical problem that may be causing radiating and in some cases debilitating symptoms. There are three levels of classifying mechanical pain. You can have pain as the result of poor posture called Postural Syndrome. You can have pain as a result of something displaced inside a joint or a spinal disc causing an obstruction of range of motion called a Derangement. And lastly, you can have pain as a result of chronically shortened tissues in the joint tissues as well as the periarticular tissues called a Dysfunction. Each of these conditions can be self treated by implementing a proactive treatment called the McKenzie Method.

The quickest way to determine if your pain stems from a mechanical source is to visit a practitioner who has been trained in mechanical diagnosis and treatment (MDT). This method is predominantly used by physical therapists, however, other types of licensed healthcare providers can also be trained. The McKenize Method has become the most effective treatments available for abolishing neck and low back pain of mechanical origin.

How Does One Get Mechanical Pain?
Mechanical pain can be caused from a single event, like a sports injury, a slip'n fall, or even be a post surgical side effect. However, it can also be due to some kind of repetitive and chronic mechanical stressor such as sitting at your computer with poor posture. If you' have ever sat at a desk, sat in a car, cleaned your house, done yard work, or cared for children then even you could have or can get pain that could be classified as Postural Syndrome, Derangement, or Dysfunction.

Chemical Pain Vs. Mechanical Pain
Two good reasons for pain can be either mechanical or chemical. Sometimes these occur simultaneously. Knowing how to treat both kinds can be one of the biggest keys to permanently abolishing your symptoms. Mechanical pain can be relieved with specific spinal or peripheral joint movement(s). Chemical pain can only be only be abolished by chemical means to reduce inflammation. The best treatment for inflammation is ice or some kind of anti-inflammatory medication (prescription or over the counter). Vicodin will not have a lasting effect on the sensation of chemical pain since it is an opiate narcotic that does not have an effect on inflammation. If you are unsure what to take, the safest route would be to ask your doctor or pharmacist what would be the most effective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory to treat your condition.

There will be times when chemical pain and mechanical pain are occurring at the same time. There are self help books that you can buy to begin learning how to self treat your pain. The two most popular books are Treat You Own Neck and Treat Your Own Back written by Robin McKenzie. If you have already read these books and are still unsure of what is causing the pain, or if you have begun the exercises and  have only gotten partial relief, then this is a good sign that it's time to start working with a practitioner who can diagnosis your condition. Mechanical pain can often be rapidly reduced or abolished with the right kind of self generated movement. Chemical pain will also rapidly reduce (within 24-48 hours) by decreasing the inflammation. When both are occurring simultaneously then they both need to be treated at the same time. Not treating both effectively could result in poor reduction of symptoms. An experience practitioner in MDT will be able to tell you how to treat either condition separately or combined so that you get the most optimal results of pain relief.

What Can I Expect At My First MDT Appointment?
It is very common for your practitioner to determine what is called a "provisional diagnosis" of your condition on the first visit. Additional appointments will be needed to confirm the provisional diagnosis. It may take up to 5 visits to determine if a patient is an appropriate candidate for MDT. Many acute mechanical pain conditions can be treated and resolved in 10 visits. However, with chronic pain, there may be many levels and layers of your conditions so it will be important for you to find a therapist who is not bound by time constraints to work with you until the completion of your highest potential for healing.

Don't Let Pain Rule Your Life.
The best advice that I can give to those who have been suffering for years on end in pain is not to give up the hope of feeling better. After reading this article you may already be much closer to relief than you've ever been before. There may be an MDT practitioner in your area. If there's not, it may be worth a drive to visit one for even just one appointment. A little bit of simple guidance in the right direction often goes a long way.

Choose to be proactive with getting relief from pain. Gain as much knowledge as you can about your condition and just decide that you have the capability to heal from your condition. A few times I have been wary about a patients potential for getting better and nearly each of those times the patient surpassed my initial judgment. Research has shown that patients who are actively involved in self treating their pain have much greater success at reducing and abolishing painful symptoms. So any way you look at the picture of you life from the vantage point of this moment, the odds are in your favor for finding relief!

The Art of Being is Often Mistaken for Laziness.

Mark Nepo, the author of Seven Thousand Ways To Listen writes about the timeless art of being and "how no one can really teach it." It is the act of tuning into the inner person to discover the inner mysteries that are in each of us and requires "deep engagement and constant listening. The great Jewish philosopher Abraham Heshel suggests that the reward for such inner tuning is a sense of peace, and that by finding and inhabiting our place in the ever changing Universe, we strengthen the fabric of life itself:

                 By being what we
                 are... by attuning our
                 own yearning to the
                 lonely holiness in this
                 world, we will aid
                 humanity more than
                 by any particular
                 service we may
                 render.

Heschel implies that the world is not complete until fitted with our yearning; that just as the Earth would be barren without trees, plants vegetables, and flowers, the holiness of the world, waiting just below the surface, will stay barren without the spirited growth of our dreams, creativity, generosity, and love. It seems that the first destiny of being here is to root our being in the world, that the world needs this as much as we need each other." (pg. 18-19).

This book came to my attention when I was listening to an interview with Mark Nepo. The title of the book was of particular interest to me since the most important part of the light touch therapies I use involve deep listening. I listening with my ears, eyes, hands and heart. It is amazing how the persons body guides their session to point to the areas that need assistance.

This past year was a completely new direction for me after selling our home and moving our home and office to Downtown Vancouver. The exchange was for a more simple life with conveniences that we've never had which has really set the stage for an opportunity of slowing down even more to allow deeper listening and unfolding of ourselves. I have really been blessed with more time to take care of myself and my family better and therefore able to tend to our business by getting organized and streamlining things for myself and our clients. All of this equals more peace which is also equal to more freedom.

Moving slow may look like laziness. Stillness may look like nothing, but really it's the seed of where creativity has the opportunity to germinate. Once you try slowing down, it may initially create a stressful state since you are not use to it, but more and more over time you will realize that everything is better at a slower speed. You see things that you missed before, you have time to have more meaningful conversations, you make less mistakes, the quality of your work improves and the end result can only mean more happiness.

May you all take more time for yourselves in 2014. Allow yourself to rest more, give yourself permission to take guilt free naps, cook wonderfully delicious meals, spend time with those that are most precious to you and be free to love more deeply!

Blessings!

It's the thought that counts right? NOT!

Happy Holidays!

I really love this time of the year. It's busy, loud and somewhat overstimulating if you participate in the normal traditions that people are accustomed to. I'm starting a new tradition for the winter holidays and that's just taking more time out for myself to decompress rather than following the crowd of getting all reved up.

I love giving gifts as much as anyone, however, I think we can all agree that everyone would rather not get a gift that has no relevance to them.  How would you feel if you knew how many of the gifts you gave were re-gifted or returned due to the fact that the gift had nothing to do with the person who received it? Sometimes giving kind words are more appropriate than going out and spending so much time and money on such gifts for others. I often wonder when having meaningful conversations went out of style. I think that's one of the only things I'm missing in life! So rather than going out and giving a gift to a person you know very little about, why not just give them a call or meet them for a lunch date and have a meaningful talk about what's most important to each of you. I guarantee that you will find the real meaning that your looking for!

Cheers!
